He founded the firm in 1982 and is widely respected within the executive search industry as a thought leader and innovator.
For decades, Jay has been recognized for his expertise and in-depth focus on client cultures and his rigorous approach to candidate assessment, aimed at optimizing the candidate-client match.
His areas of expertise span all aspects of information technology, as well as operations, finance, security, audit, compliance, and controls.
Jay received a B.A. in Psychology from The George Washington University and an M.S. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He is currently listed in every major study of leading professionals in executive search.
Anne Crowley joined Jay Gaines & Company in 2005 as a Managing Director.
Since then, she has played a key role in building out the firm’s practice in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, and Controls searches.
Anne is known for the extensive discipline and coverage she brings to complex projects, providing clients with intelligent options. It is not uncommon for searches she leads to result in multiple hires.
Prior to joining Jay Gaines & Co., Anne spent 20+ years in IT consulting, working primarily with U.S. and global banks, brokerage firms, asset managers, insurance companies, and service providers.
She received a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
Terry (Tarin) Anwar
Terry (Tarin) Anwar is a Managing Director with Jay Gaines & Company and has been with the firm since its inception in 1982.
For over 30 years he has successfully recruited exceptionally talented senior professionals for world-class financial firms on the buy and sell sides. Some of these individuals have become luminaries in the industry.
He has broad experience in recruiting for professionals in risk management, investment management / portfolio management, finance, compliance and legal, information technology, and operations.
Prior to joining Jay Gaines & Company, Terry held research roles with the World Bank’s Investment Research Division and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Terry received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bates College and pursued graduate studies at M.I.T. He is a first generation Bangladeshi American.
Gina Schiller is a Managing Director with Jay Gaines & Company and has been with the firm since 2012.
She brings to the firm 25+ years of IT executive recruitment experience, and has successfully led senior mandates for global clients across industry sectors that include financial services, insurance, health care, pharmaceutical, education, retail, and transportation.
Gina’s hallmarks are deep IT subject matter expertise and rigorous candidate assessments. She is devoted to providing clients and candidates with a valuable experience that will contribute to their professional growth.
Prior to joining Jay Gaines & Company, she spent 15 years with JB Homer & Associates, and before that was a Senior Technology Recruiter at Executive Registry, Inc. She has led industry roundtable discussions and spoken at industry forums for the Securities Industry Automation Corporation and Financial Information Services Division of the Software and Information Industry Association.
Gina graduated from Brooklyn College cum laude with a B.A. in English.
Kelsey is Business Manager and Head of Administration, and has been with the firm since 2015.
She has direct contact with clients and candidates throughout the search cycle. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and general oversight ensure a smooth process for all involved.
Kelsey’s work ethic, perseverance, and dedication extends beyond her clients. In her role at Jay Gaines, she assists with administrative, technical, and operational aspects of the firm. She performs research and creates documentation that adds value to and provides insight on the client-candidate relationship.
Kelsey received a B.A. from The George Washington University and an M.A. from Northeastern University.
